Privacy policy

LokSmith is a Windows app that turns your recordings into sounds for ESU LokSound decoders. LokSmith is owned and operated by VonkWorks (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what we collect when you use the app and this website, and why. The short version: your recordings and projects never leave your computer, and we keep only what we need to run your account.
What stays on your computer
Your audio and video files, your .lksmith projects, your .esux files and their backups, and export logs are stored locally. LokSmith does not upload them.
What we collect

We don't use advertising trackers or analytics cookies, and this website sets no cookies.
Payments
Payments are handled by Stripe. Your card details go directly to Stripe and are never seen or stored by LokSmith.
Who processes your data
- Supabase: account sign-in and our database (hosted in the United States)
- Fly.io: runs the LokSmith API at api.loksmith.co (United States)
- Stripe: subscriptions and payments
- Google: only if you choose to sign in with Google
- Amazon Web Services: hosts this website
We don't sell your personal information or share it for advertising.
How long we keep it
We keep account data while your account is open. Device records you remove are deleted. Rate-limit counters and logs are short-lived. Billing records are kept as long as tax and accounting law requires.
Your choices
You can ask to see, correct, export or delete your data, or close your account, by emailing loksmith@vonkworks.com. Deleting your account cancels any subscription and removes your devices and usage history.
Changes
If we change this policy we'll update the date above, and tell you in the app if the change is significant.
